Thunnus alalonga has a high protein content (22%), and is naturally low in fat (4-5%). It is also rich in Omega 3, which boasts HDL, or “good”, cholesterol over “bad cholesterol”. It is an excellent source of vitamins, especially B1, B2, P and A, and minerals such as calcium, potassium and sodium, and also has a moderate calorie content.
