Our Cantucci Cookies are a traditional Tuscan masterpiece with an unmistakable oblique cut and prepared with only the finest ingredients: plenty of fragrant, extra-sweet, stone-ground almonds, mixed-flower honey with a hint of vanilla and fresh, full-fat milk. Baked twice for a crisp, crunchy bite.

Ingredients

Wheat flour, sugar, almonds 20%, egg yolk, eggs, whole milk, butter, honey, baking powder (disodium diphosphate, baking soda), salt, flavorings.
Contains: wheat, almonds, eggs and milk. May contain traces of soy and other tree nuts.

Certified by control body authorized by the Mipaaf Cantuccini were probably born in the Renaissance sumptuous Courts. The cooks of the House of Medici kept for centuries the secret of that recipe, which reportedly was passed on to them by Isabella of Este’s pastry chefs, since she was often visiting Tuscany during her journeys to Rome. The first documented recipe of these almond cookies, written by the scholar Amadio Baldanzi, dates back to the 18th century and is still kept in the State Archive in Prato, Tuscany. In the 19th century the recipe was resumed by a renowned pastry chef and has remained the same since then, becoming the original recipe of Cantuccini. The product owes its traditional nature to the processing system that has remained unchanged over time, to the originality of taste and to the particularity of the shape and dough. In Tuscany Cantuccini are traditionally eaten dunked in Vinsanto, a semi-sweet Tuscan wine.

Store in a cool and dry place. Once opened keep in an airtight container.

Our Almond Cantucci Cookies boast the traditional methods and double baking process necessary for a crunchy texture and original flavor.
